Part of the super-special Tama STAR Series, every STAR Reserve snare drum features a unique shell, resulting in truly unique sound. The Vol.4 model is the first in the range, and comes furnished with a 1.5 millimetre thick copper shell with a 14 inch diameter and 6.5 inch depth, shaped by the hands of Tama boffins using two specialised hammers, where the edges are moulded with a hammer with a smaller striking surface than the hammer used to shape the middle. This increases the overall strength of the shell while guarantee full and impacting sound, while the specific hammering pattern also ensures big volume across the mid to low tonal range and helps conjure harmonious overtones. Thanks to the exclusive finish of the bearing edges, this snare also has a sharp and defined attack, polishing off the already big and warm tone of this singular all-metal model.

Customised Flanged Hoops

The pre-fitted hoops have been based on the standard 2.3 millimetre Flanged Hoop, which have been specially modified for the STAR Reserve Vol.4. These hoops aren't just made from brass for a classic look when combined with the copper shell, but a little of the edge has been shaved away from each hoop, boosting the attack with that bit more ferocity. The TCS1465H STAR Reserve snare also comes finished with a set of eight subtly designed lugs, a smooth and supple snare strainer and a set of Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon snare wires, which team up with the included Remo drumheads to complete a stunner of a model.
